Shireen Varga
​Executive Director
Shireen is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a dedicated Captain with the California State Guard, where she serves as both Executive Officer and Behavioral Health Officer. With a deep commitment to public service, she balances her work with the Guard in her spare time while also providing critical leadership at Sorrel Leaf Healing Center full time.

Shireen brings many years of hands-on experience working with youth in crisis, as well as a proven track record in managing clinical programs in a nonprofit setting. Her work has primarily focused on supporting underserved youth and adults in Southern California, where she has successfully developed and led initiatives designed to empower individuals and families and promote healing in communities facing adversity.

Having lived half of her life in Italy, Shireen's global perspective enriches her approach to care and leadership. As a Native Hawaiian, she holds a deep respect for cultural diversity, integrating this value into her work to ensure it is both inclusive and effective. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian, Shireen has the unique ability to connect with a broad spectrum of individuals, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all.

Shireen is passionate about helping others, especially those who face significant mental health challenges, and is dedicated to bringing her expertise, compassion, and leadership to Sorrel Leaf Healing Center as Executive Director. She is a strong advocate for mental health and wellness, driven by the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to heal and thrive.

Meghan Gallagher
​Head of Operations
With nearly two decades of leadership experience in health and social services, Meghan brings deep operational insight, regulatory expertise, and a passion for high-impact care to her work. She has a proven track record of developing and leading complex programs while ensuring full compliance with local, state, federal, and funding-specific regulations—skills that directly align with the mission and operational needs of Sorrel Leaf Healing Center.
Her extensive background in hiring, training, and staff development supports the creation of cohesive, mission-driven teams—an essential component in building a responsive and resilient organizational culture. Additionally, her certification in Project Management for Nonprofits complements her hands-on experience in launching services that are both effective and sustainable.
A two-time Administrator of the Year and recipient of multiple deficiency-free regulatory audits, Meghan consistently demonstrates a commitment to operational excellence, regulatory integrity, and trauma-informed care delivery—making her an ideal fit for leading operations and compliance at Sorrel Leaf Healing Center.
