After Crisis Care
Post Crisis Support
Where Healing Takes Root
A cornerstone of Sorrel Leaf Healing Center is the after-crisis care we provide to residents and their families. Healing from a mental health crisis takes time, which is why our program is designed to last three to six months, allowing us to tailor care to each youth’s unique needs and the needs of their family. During this time, we focus on helping youth keep working on the healthy coping skills they learned, continue building resilience, and learn strategies for responding to stress in ways that support long-term well-being.
Equally important is preparing youth to reintegrate successfully into their everyday lives, whether at home, at school, or in the community. We work closely with families to ensure that the skills and strategies learned at Sorrel Leaf are reinforced and supported after discharge. Our goal is not just to stabilize a crisis, but to create a foundation for lasting growth, connection, and empowerment for both youth and their families.
Available Winter 2026
❋ Family Therapy
We serve families three to six months after an intensive crisis, virtually and in person at our center, for seven different counties including: Humboldt, Del Norte, Siskiyou, Shasta, Trinity, Mendocino and Lake County.
❋ Case Management
Having an advocate lessens the burden of navigating the healthcare system and pairs your family with someone familiar to your situation.
❋ Community Support
Our goal is to ensure that our residents feel supported during and after a crisis by people who care for their wellbeing.
❋ Individual Therapies
Easing into a regular routine after a crisis can be a difficult transition. We ensure that youth who have experienced a crisis can still access treatment after their intensive time at Sorrel Leaf with individualized, longer-term therapy and advocacy.
