Heather Schwartz

Head of Service

Heather is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with experience across private practice, hospice, community mental health, and behavioral health leadership. Throughout her career, she has worked with individuals and youth navigating grief, trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and periods of emotional uncertainty, always with an emphasis on creating spaces where people feel genuinely seen, supported, and understood.

Before becoming a therapist, Heather studied contemporary art and painting, spending years exploring the relationship between creativity, human behavior, and social systems. That background continues to shape her approach to both therapy and leadership today. She believes healing is not simply about fixing problems, but about helping people better understand themselves, reconnect with their inner world, and develop a stronger sense of self and belonging.

In her current role as Head of Service at Sorrel Leaf Healing Center, Heather is helping develop programs that prioritize emotional safety, creativity, connection, and individualized care for children and adolescents experiencing crisis. She believes young people deserve spaces where they are encouraged to express themselves openly and explore their experiences without shame or judgment.

In addition to her clinical and leadership work, Heather continues to paint and maintains a strong connection to the creative process. She sees art as a meaningful way to reflect, process experiences, and stay connected to both herself and the world around her.
