Director of Finance

Andrew serves as the Director of Finance for Sorrel Leaf Healing Center, bringing a wealth of financial leadership experience and a longstanding commitment to the Humboldt community.

A resident of the region since 2000, Andrew has built both his professional career and personal life around service, stewardship, and community well-being. He holds two degrees from Cal Poly Humboldt, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management, providing him with a unique blend of financial expertise and environmental perspective. He further strengthened his leadership and strategic management skills by earning an MBA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Andrew’s career reflects extensive experience in nonprofit and mission-driven organizations, where fiscal responsibility and community impact go hand in hand. He has led financial operations encompassing budget development and oversight, grant management and compliance, fund accounting, financial reporting, audit coordination, and the implementation of strong internal controls.

 His work has consistently supported organizational sustainability, transparency, and responsible stewardship of public and philanthropic funds.


My Approach

My approach to managing finances at Sorrel Leaf is to be thoughtful and hands on; I stay on top of the details while keeping an eye on long-term sustainability.

I value collaboration and clear communication, making sure financial decisions support both the team and Sorrel Leaf’s mission.

Favorite Foods

My favorite foods are Turkish and Middle Eastern dishes; I love trying new recipes and revisiting old favorites.

Favorite Recent Trip

My favorite recent trip was an eight-day visit to Rome, where I explored the city’s history and architecture while enjoying incredible food and culture.
